Victorian & Period Floorboard Restoration West London
Preserving the Architectural Heritage of West London Homes
Victorian pine floorboards are a heritage treasure common in Ealing, Hammersmith, and Fulham. These floors require a sympathetic approach to preserve their aged character while providing the durability required for modern living.
The Technical Challenge: Bitumen and Gaps
Original Victorian boards are often brittle and coated in stubborn ‘black bitumen’. Large gaps between boards are a primary source of draughts. Our process involves using Zirconia abrasives to safely remove old finishes and executing bespoke gap filling using resin or timber slivers.
