Project Overview: Large Scale Residential Restoration in Chiswick
This project involved the extensive restoration of 85 square meters of strip timber flooring across a luxury townhouse in Chiswick W4. The scope covered the kitchen, hallway, dining room, living room, and an additional reception room.
The Challenge
The client, a local homeowner, required a durable yet elegant finish that could withstand the rigours of a busy family home. Some dark patches near the skirting boards were identified during the survey, requiring a sympathetic sanding approach to minimize their appearance.
Our Solution
- Sanding Process: A 3-stage dust-free sanding process was executed to level the boards and remove old finish.
- Finishing: Applied 3 coats of Clear Commercial Grade Lacquer in a Matt finish for a modern, resilient look.
- Logistics: We managed the project over 5 days, including moving furniture side-to-side three times to ensure full coverage without requiring the client to clear the property completely.
The Result
The floors were transformed from dull and worn to radiating a smooth, resilient beauty that enhances the townhouse’s natural character. The commercial-grade lacquer ensures long-term protection against foot traffic and spills.
